Wallet Developers We Need To Talk, or "How lack of recovery phrase wallet interoperability will kill Bitcoin adoption"

TL;DR: The "recovery phrase" situation is horrible, it does not work across major wallets. We must fix it or adoption will continue to be hindered for Bitcoin.
Body:
I'm working on a new web wallet project (yes, for BCH!) and I'm appalled at the state of Bitcoin libraries and the cluster of the whole 'recovery/mnemonic phrase' situation.
Is it really so hard to give out a peice of paper with some human readable words on it to a friend or family member and tell them to "cash this" and just expect it to work on any popular BTC/BCH wallet.
No...it seems like we insist on providing alien-crypto text (private key) or if we're nice we give out a QR code (thanks a lot -- I don't have a printer at home, now what?)
Let me give you a goal and an example of how fucked up of a place we are in. If we do not solve this, then Bitcoin adoption is seriously being limited for the foreseeable future.
Say you want to build a simple wallet service that generates recovery phrases that can be used in any wallet provider. How do you go about doing this?
Exhibit A. Electrum Recovery Seeds - http://docs.electrum.org/en/latest/faq.html
Notice there is an example of a seed in there: constant forest adore false green weave stop guy fur freeze giggle clock
Do you think this works with Bitcoin.com's or Coinomi's wallet or even Electrum/Cash No, of course not Why the fuck would we do something so easy like that?
Exhibit B) BitcoinJS BIP39 Mnemonic HD Recovery Seed generation (https://bitcoinjs.org/)
What about generating wallet seeds via the BitcoinJS library? Do you think it imports into Electrum on Bitcoin.com? No, of course not. Why would we want to have interoperability? Make the users suffer because we're cool and different.
CSW is correct: We need better wallet front-ends, and we have to get together and actually have a **interoperable standard for mnemonic key phrases across major wallets. There is nothing more cool than being able to print the "money serial number" on a piece of paper and tell a friend "this is money, spend it".

Help Please - Looking at converting an ionic/Angular Crypto App over to Elm.

I've got an app over on github. https://github.com/onchain/CarbonKey
It started life as an ionic app, i.e. from the same source code I could deploy to android and ios.
It has recently been converted to a PWA progressive web app, as I want to move away from depending on app stores and the app store deployment process.
The app is available at https://key.carbonwallet.com so you can see the way the PWA works if you wish.
To clean up this code and add some decent testing I'm thinking of moving over to ELM.
So I'd require.
  1. To still be able to use the BitcoinJS library, perhaps with some sort of type safety?
  2. To be a PWA.
  3. Bootstrap as the main style, does ELM have syntax support for bootstrap 4?
  4. To still be able to scan bar codes. It's currently using a service worker for this.
  5. Support for calling to a backend server.
  6. Some sort of testing framework that can intercept the the Ajax calls and simulate. I'm thinking something like VCR that's available on rails.
  7. A pattern for folder setup, what's the best way to organise models etc.
I'm also interested in outsourcing this, so any help in that are would be great too.
Thanks.

Is there a library (preferably JavaScript) to create and sign Litecoin transactions?

Suppose I have a Litecoin address and the corresponding private key. I want to create and sign a transaction to spend LTC from that address to one or more other addresses.
For Bitcoin, I have been able to do this using the BitcoinJS library. Is there something like that for Litecoin?

JS Library For Bitcoin Wallet Creation/Manipulation

Hi Folks,
I'm working on a project currently that I've been considering implementing wallets for each individual user. For security reasons, they will all be BIP38 encrypted and the user alone will have the password, whilst I will be storing the Public key and encrypted private key in my database.
I've found a few .Net implementations of Bitcoin that I had considered, but none would allow me to do this via the frontend.
Do any of you know of a decent JS library that; - Allows in browser generation of public and BIP38 private keys. - Allows sending transactions. - Allows checking for current bitcoin balances.
preferably something fairly simple to implement. I found a few things, but most of them are based around node.js and/or are very verbose and I figured perhaps one of you may have done something like this before and would know of the best current option.
Thanks in advance!

Bored? Looking for something to do? Start with this list of things to do in the Sacramento area.

(Credit for the below list has to be given to u/BurritoFueled, who created the original list in 2014 and updated it a year later. Almost two-thirds of the items below are still from that original list. All I’ve done with the list is revive it a little bit by updating dead links and making little tweaks when necessary. Also, thanks to those that submitted new additions to the list last week. Over a third of the below items are new and a lot of the original items have had newer information added onto them.)
People are always looking for something to do around here. Maybe you’re a transplant, unaware of what this area has to offer, or maybe you’re a lifelong resident, tired of the same old thing. Well friend, if you fall into the latter category, do not despair. There’s actually plenty of things to do in the Sacramento area – things of interest to almost any lifestyle, personality, or budget.
So, whether you’re an athlete, geek, eccentric, hipster, weirdo, sexual deviant or just a normal person looking for a new activity, below is a list of activities for you to try. Please note that it includes only activities that take place at least a few times a year – no one-off events or festivals here.
Enjoy this list. If you have any suggestions of your own to add, comment below in this thread. I'll try to keep this as up to date as possible.
Away we go.
UPDATED 10-6-20
(Note: Due to the current pandemic, some of these activities may be curtailed or not offered at all.)
